3. Synthesize Data to Develop and Propose the Tool
What’s being done:
Integrate insights from:
Environmental observations (audit data)
Lived experience interviews (coded in NVivo)
Demographic and contextual factors (e.g., age, co-morbid disabilities)
Identify common accessibility pain points, features that support independence, and patterns in misfit between people and spaces.
Map these patterns into functional domains (e.g., mobility, reachability, safety) to form core tool dimensions.
Output:
A draft prototype of the NeighbourABLE assessment tool (not yet validated).
Categorized indicators with examples, potentially visual scales, or score-based components.
This prototype will later be refined and validated in future phases (not in this current study).
